Sarah Sieloff, Studio Director / Instructor

Sarah Sieloff has over 30 years of experience in the dance industry.  Her expertise lies in Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical and Jazz, with extensive training in many other dance styles. Her choreography has earned numerous regional and national awardsincluding Overall Placement and Judge’s Choice honors. Her past students have gone on to be instructors, stage performers and business professionals. Along with Ms. Jessica, she is a recipient of the Marjory Perry Spirit Award from Dance Makers Inc. and the Studio Spirit Award from Dupree Dance. Ms. Sarah studied both Dance and Communications at Wayne State University, where she was a member of WSU’s award-winning Dance Company. She also had the pleasure of dancing Swan Lake with Detroit’s Ballet Renaissance. Other accreditations include membership in the Michigan Council of Dance and training in New York City. She opened Dance Avenue with Jessica Hall in 2006, becoming the sole owner and director in 2019. Ms. Sarah is married with one handsome child and a houseful of cuddly pets.


Angela Henderson, Assistant Director / Instructor

Angela Henderson joined the Dance Avenue faculty in 2007. She has over 30 years of dance, performance and teaching experience. She specializes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz and Musical Theater, with an extensive background in Modern, Fitness and Pilates. She has choreographed pieces that have garnered regional and national recognition, including Overall Placement and Judge’s Choice competitive awards. Ms. Angela graduated with honors from Wayne State University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a Minor in Dance. Ms. Angela is a past Associate Editor for WDET Detroit Public Radio’s Art and Culture desk, where she covered many dance and arts-related topics.  She was a Marketing Director in the Retirement Industry for 10 years. Aside from teaching, Ms. Angela is also our Web Designer. She is very happily married with two wonderful children.


Ciara Yarrington, Assistant Director / Instructor

After completing her time as a student and competitive dancer at Dance Avenue, Ciara Yarrington taught as a member of our faculty from 2015 through 2018, returning in 2020. She has over six years of studio teaching experience and also works as a schoolteacher. Ms. Ciara is a Wayne State University graduate, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dance and Performance. She held the position of Studio Intern while training at our studio. Ms. Ciara has also interned with the Motor City Tap Festival. She is a former member of To Sangana Dance Company. She has performed at The Detroit Institute of Arts as Principal Dancer for the Body Cartography Projectfor which she is also a member of the guest artist residency program. Ms. Ciara has trained under and danced in pieces for artists including Biba Bell and Lisa LaMarreShe performed at the 2016 Apple Awards, honoring Garth Fagan as a recipient. She has also been employed by and traveled with a major dance competition, helping manage nationwide events. Ms. Ciara is an award-winning choreographer on the competitive circuit. She credits her mother and father for their unconditional love and support, understanding dance in its truest form.


Madison Keaton, Office Manager / Media Supervisor / Instructor

Since her student days at Dance Avenue, Madison Keaton has remained with us as an Office Manager and Teacher. She joined our Competitive Team teaching staff for 2020-2021 and her choreography has already earned overall placements and judge’s choice awards! Ms. Madison danced competitively with DACT for five years, winning overall placements both as a soloist and within group dances. Her junior year, she served as DACT Team Captain. Ms. Madison was also our Office Intern before taking the position as an Office Manager. Ms. Madison currently attends the University of Michigan-Dearborn, working on her degree in Marketing.


Cynthia Rogers, Instructor

Cynthia Rogers joined the Dance Avenue staff in 2006. She has over 35 years of experience as a dance educator. Ms. Cindy’s performing credits include membership as both a dancer and choreographer for the Dearborn Civic Theatre, tenure as a member of the Fairlane Ballet Company and experience as a cruise line dancer. She has enjoyed performing nationwide in the US, as well as abroad in Spain and the Caribbean. She still performs annually in local productions of Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic “The Nutcracker. Ms. Cindy is a Kent State graduate, having been certified by the University’s Teacher Training School.  She also holds a teaching certificate from the Cecchetti Council of America. Ms. Cindy is proudly married with two children and two loving and talented grandchildren.


Lisa Walker, Office Supervisor / Instructor

Lisa Walker started her training at Julie Andrews School of Dance and was part of the first graduating class at Dance Avenue! Ms. Lisa has over 20 years of performance and teaching experience. She specializes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Modern. At age 17 Ms. Lisa was selected for a summer internship at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, where she served as an assistant to renowned choreographers including Chio, Kat Wildish, Frank Hatchett, Sheila Barker, Michelle Barber and Traci Stanfield. Ms. Lisa later studied dance at Arizona State University. During her time teaching in North Carolina and all over Southeast Michigan, her competitive team choreography received overall high placements and judge’s choice awards. Along with teaching, Ms. Lisa works for Ford Motor Company and has two adorable children.


Alexis Guerra, Instructor

Since her student days at Dance Avenue, Alexis Guerra has remained busy in the dance industry. She is a member of Detroit’s Next Level Dance Company, performing Hip Hop pieces around the metro Detroit area at various festivals and events. In Summer 2017, Ms. Alexis traveled to Los Angeles with Next Level to perform for World of Dance. Ms. Alexis also dances with Melodic Nocturne Dance Tribe, performing in showcases in and around Detroit and Chicago. She is the former coach of Woodhaven High School’s Dance Team, guiding them to 1st Place victories and gaining senior student invitations to join the Universal Dance Association (UDA) staff. Ms. Alexis is a University of Michigan-Dearborn graduate, earning her degree in Business Administration. When she isn’t dancing, Ms. Alexis enjoys her career as a Senior Recruiter at Quicken Loans in downtown Detroit.


Cherie Shown, Office Supervisor / Instructor

Cherie Shown joined the Dance Avenue team in 2016 with over 20 years of dance experience; specializing in Ballet (Cecchetti Method), Jazz and Acrobatics. She is a former member of the Plymouth Metro Dance Company and Henry Ford’s Full Circle Dance Company. Ms. Cherie is also a former Promotional Model and Dancer for nearly 15 years, performing for nationwide events. She has over a decade of Figure Skating training, is a three time State Champion and served as a coach for the Southgate Figure Skating Club from 2002 to 2016. Currently Ms. Cherie holds a long term, successful career with an all-encompassing Real Estate firm. She enjoys reading, fine art, hiking, cooking and spending time with family.

Irene Roberts, Instructor

Irene Roberts grew up dancing in southwestern Michigan, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Western Michigan University prior to her performing career in Los Angeles. She has performed professionally with numerous companies including Blue13 Dance Company, SiZa Dance Company, Errant Movement and Ameratsu Dance Company. Ms. Irene has choreographed for LA Unbound and the inaugural NACHMO LA performance. She holds both a Bachelor of Art in Dance as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in management and nonprofit leadership from Western Michigan University. Ms. Irene is a certified nonprofit professional through the nonprofit leadership alliance as well as a certified Xtend Barre and TRX instructor. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Ann Arbor based nonprofit Young Dancers Initiative and Jodie Randolph Dance Company. Ms. Irene is excited to join Dance Avenue as an Instructor this year, and we are thrilled to welcome her!


Samantha Bouchard, Instructor

We are so very excited and proud to welcome Samantha Bouchard to our teaching staff this year! Ms. Sam has danced with us for 15 years, beginning as a preschooler in our first year of operation. Aside from studying every discipline we offer, Ms. Sam competed on the Dance Avenue Competition Team for eight years, serving as Team Captain her senior year. As both a team member and soloist, Ms. Sam earned numerous overall placements and judge’s awards. Most of our younger dancers already know her as “Ms. Sam,” since she has worked as a beloved Assistant Teacher for the past seven years. Ms. Sam is attending Wayne State University with honors, majoring in biological sciences with a pre-med track. She is a wonderful role model, fabulous dancer and caring teacher. We cannot overstate how proud we are to have Ms. Sam onboard!

Sophia Deault, Instructor

Sophia Deault joined the Dance Avenue staff in 2006 and has over 20 years of teaching experience. Ms. Sophia specializes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Modern with a certification in Pilates. She has trained at the Center for Creative Studies and Wayne State University, where she belonged to the WSU Dance Company and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Dance. She was a member of the Brown Shoe Tap Company and the Cuban Festival Dance Company. Ms. Sophia received the Copperfoot Award for choreography for work performed in the WSU Children’s Dance Concert. She has taken part in the Grand Prix Italia International Dance Competition in Cesena, Italy. In 2016, Ms. Sophia worked in collaboration and performed with the Detroit Dance Collective and Kristi Faulkner and in 2019 she took part in the WSU Alumni Dance Performance. Ms. Sophia loves spending time with her wonderful husband, two beautiful daughters and handsome son.


Kristie Boley, DACT Choreographer

Kristie Boley joined Dance Avenue as an instructor in 2016. She has nearly 20 years of training, performance and teaching experienceHer specialties are Contemporary, Lyrical and Hip Hop, with a great depth of knowledge in various other styles. Ms. Kristie holds a degree in Fine Arts from Henry Ford College. Upon graduation, she was invited to attend a summer-long intensive at International Dance Academy in Los Angeles. Ms. Kristie is a current member of Release Detroit’s Performance Team, a rigorous training and performance program. She is a former member of Detroit Pride, the Detroit Lions Cheerleading Squad. She performed at every home game as well as at The Fillmore and Motor City Casino. She served as the team’s ambassador and was selected to appear on the official Detroit Pride Cheerleaders poster. Feature film credits include a role as a background dancer in the Lifetime movie “America” and a role alongside Miley Cyrus in “LOL.”  Ms. Kristie is happily married with two adorable doggies at home. 


Amanda Barger, Substitute Instructor

Amanda Barger has enjoyed success in the dance industry as a student, competitive dancer and choreographer. She primarily focuses on Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop, but she is also a talented dancer and teacher of Ballet, Jazz and Tap. Throughout Ms. Amanda’s time on our Competitive Team’s coaching staff her pieces earned Overall Placement and Judge’s awards. Her work also received choreography honors at Dupree’s National Competition during Ms. Amanda’s rookie coaching year. She has performed at local events including Detroit’s Sidewalk Festival. She holds a career as a General Merchandise Sales Associate at Motor City Harley Davidson. Ms. Amanda loves spending time with friends, painting and reading anything she can get her hands on.


Stephanie Follebout, Substitute Instructor

Stephanie Follebout began dancing at 4 years old. While she is trained in numerous styles, her true passion lies in Tap and Modern dance. During her student years at Dance Avenue, Ms. Stephanie served as Assistant Teacher in the preschool and kindergarten classes, worked the front desk as an Intern and was a five-year member of the Competition Team, serving as Team Captain her senior year. Ms. Stephanie was a 2018-2019 dance company member of Fun Girl, directed by Chloé Gray. Ms. Stephanie is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Dance. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 and is now a Social Worker at Michigan Medicine. She is a happy newlywed and proud dog mom of retired greyhounds.

Jessica Hall, Co-Founder

Jessica Hall has been in the dance industry for over 30 years, with extensive training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip Hop. She and Ms. Sarah opened Dance Avenue in 2006. Ms. Jessica has choreographed and taught numerous regional and national award-winning competitive pieces, often earning Overall Placement and Judge’s Choice honors. Her past students have gone on to be dance teachers, performers and business professionals. She and Ms. Sarah are past recipients of the Marjory Perry Spirit Award from Dance Makers Inc. and the Studio Spirit Award from Dupree Dance. Outside of the studio, Ms. Jessica has loaned her talents to local High School dance teams and productions. She is also a traveling judge and emcee for a major dance competition. Ms. Jessica holds a business degree from Baker College and is always looking to gain more training to develop her students. Ms. Jessica is married with two children, and she is very proud of her wonderful and supportive family.
