MINI (ages 3-4)
Ballet and Tap classes are offered at this age level, where young children begin to learn the basic fundamentals of dance. Mini students should be ready for a classroom setting and potty trained (or close to it). We will accept students who are almost three years of age when they meet these requirements.
PETITE (ages 5-6)
At this age level students can attend Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Jazz Funk classes. Petite students will learn basic dance technique, dance terminology and proper dance classroom etiquette… all while having a fun time!
JUNIOR (ages 7-8 )
Junior students will expand their dance knowledge and advance their technique. Hip Hop and Lyrical classes can be added, as well as Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. Dancers at this level are encouraged to take as many classes as possible in order to become well-rounded. Students with prior dance experience are eligible to audition for the Dance Avenue Competition Team (DACT), which allows dancers the benefit of additional performance opportunities.
LEVEL 1 (ages 9 & up)
Students further their understanding of theory and terminology while greatly advancing in technique. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Lyrical dance styles are available to this age group, as well as eligibility for the Competition Team (by audition).
LEVEL 2 (ages 11 & up)
By this level, students are expected to comprehend and recall basic dance terminology as they continue to develop their artistry, skill and technique. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Lyrical are available, as well as eligibility for the Competition Team (by audition). Prerequisite: Studio Director Approval.
LEVEL 3 (Intermediate)
Female students are able to start their Pointe Shoe training! Students must have at least one year of Ballet experience before starting their Pre-Pointe classes. Students are expected retain their dance knowledge pertaining to both mind and body, while gaining the confidence to bring their own personalities into the movement. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and the Dance Avenue Competition Team (by audition) are available at this level. Prerequisite: Studio Director Approval.
LEVEL 4 (Intermediate – Advanced)
Level 4 students are expected to possess a deep understanding of dance theory and movement. Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and the Dance Avenue Competition Team (by audition). are available at this level. Dancers who have gained the ability to perform many advanced technical movements will work to excel and expand their craft. Prerequisite: Studio Director Approval.
LEVEL 5 (Advanced)
This level is reserved only for the most advanced dancers. We require all dancers attending this level to be able to perform many advanced dance movements and turns. Any student in this level may be asked to return to Level 4 if an instructor feels that she/he is not yet ready for such an advanced setting, regardless of age. Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary dance styles are available to Level 5 students, as well as the Dance Avenue Competition Team (by audition). Prerequisite: Studio Director Approval.
DANCE AVENUE COMPETITION TEAM (ages 7-19)
Dance Team membership is by audition only. Dancers (ages 7-19) are welcome to audition for our award-winning and nationally acclaimed Dance Team. PRIVATE LESSONS (all ages)
Individual lessons can be requested in any style Dance Avenue offers: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical or Contemporary.
